Brilliant cancer research is exploding all around us at a rate of knots these days. But in a world of information overload, how can we find the stuff that's worth knowing? And for those of us lacking experience of the scientific world, how on earth can we decipher the meaning of phrases like "oncolytic virotherapeutic potential" that fill up the majority of good quality research papers?!

The answer is a simple one and CUOS are proud to offer you this exciting new initiative: Research Nuggets.

The idea is simple. Every so often we will take an exciting cancer discovery and decipher the research behind it in a user-friendly way, giving you access to the raw material without you having to scour the web or trudge through challenging terminology or scientific concepts.

We plan to summarise each article twice: one nugget aimed at medical students, tagged #medic, and the other nugget aimed at those of us without medical training, tagged #public.

But it doesn't stop there!

Perhaps you have an idea for something people should understand about cancer? Perhaps you've read a brilliant paper and you want people to know about it? Or perhaps you've seen an exciting article and wish it were easier to understand exactly what the writers claim?

Whatever your thoughts, drop us a line and we'll see what we can do.

You never know; your submission could be the inspiration for our next Research Nugget!
